Why Choose This Sun Spot Removal Cream?
Long-term sun exposure often leads to visible signs of damage. Adding Curaderm BEC5® cream to your routine provides an effective, targeted solution that works externally while supporting your overall skincare and wellness plan.
What’s Inside?
Each 20g tube of Curaderm contains:
- Solasodine Glycosides (BEC) – the active ingredient that promotes selective removal of damaged skin cells
- Salicylic Acid and Urea – included at high concentrations to assist BEC penetration (these may cause temporary irritation)
What is Curaderm BEC5® Used For?
This advanced actinic keratosis cream is formulated to treat sun-damaged skin that may appear discoloured, scaly, or thickened due to prolonged UV exposure. It is not intended for use on moles or melanomas.
How to Use Curaderm
- Apply Curaderm cream only to external areas of the skin affected by lesions, discoloration, or keratoses.
- Use at least twice daily (up to ten times daily if instructed), always covering the area with microporous tape to maintain effectiveness.
- Continue until new, healthy skin has fully regrown.
A typical course lasts anywhere from 7 to 60 days, depending on severity and individual skin sensitivity.
Before you use BEC5® Curaderm Cream
Before applying Curaderm topical cream, inform your healthcare professional if you have any known allergies to medications, foods, preservatives, or other substances.
The active BEC component used in BEC5® Curaderm topical cream is derived from compounds found in eggplant/aubergine so individuals with an eggplant/aubergine allergy should seek medical advice before use.
Additionally, do not use Curaderm cream if you have a known allergy to aspirin or salicylates.
- Not to be used on children under 12 years without doctor’s advice.
- BEC5® should be stored below 25 degrees C.
- Keep out of Reach of Children.
- Areas being treated with BEC5® cream should remain covered with a dressing such as a micro pore.
- BEC5® should not be applied to moles or melanomas.
When to use Curaderm BEC5® and what to expect
BEC5® topical treatment should be applied no less than twice per day. During treatment, it is common to notice redness and swelling in the treated area. Some users may also feel tingling or mild discomfort lasting 30–60 minutes after application; this response is considered normal.
As treatment progresses, a typical sequence may occur: initial redness, followed by surface breakdown, possible ulceration, and gradual removal of unwanted skin cells. This is then followed by the regeneration of healthy skin tissue. Treatment areas may temporarily appear worse before improvement becomes visible.
Application Steps
- Cleanse with antiseptic solution, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
- Apply a thick layer of cream to the treatment site.
- Cover with microporous tape and wash hands afterward.
How long to use Curaderm BEC5®
A standard course of Curaderm cream treatment may range from 7 to 60 days, depending on how often the product is applied and individual skin sensitivity. Once swelling has reduced and the skin appears restored, treatment should be stopped, and any remaining redness will slowly subside.
In some cases, a longer treatment period may be required. When uncertain, continuing treatment for a little longer may help reduce the risk of recurrence. In such situations, applications should continue until the affected area has fully regenerated with new skin tissue.
If a dose is missed
Maintaining a consistent application schedule is important. Missing multiple applications may allow healthy skin to grow over the lesion, which can obscure the area and result in incomplete treatment. If an application is accidentally missed, simply resume using BEC5® Curaderm cream at least twice daily, or follow your original instructions.
If you use too much Curaderm cream
Wipe away any excess and then wash BEC5® cream from the affected areas using soap and water.
What to Expect after Use
Redness, tingling and swelling are common signs that BEC5® Curaderm cream is actively working on the affected areas. Over time, the damaged tissue breaks down before being naturally replaced by new, healthy skin.
If swelling, irritation, pain or redness is prolonged, distressing or excessive, seek your health professional’s advice.
If you experience any other effects that you believe may be associated with the use of this cream you should also discuss these symptoms with your health professional.
Lesions may appear worse before improvement is visible – this is part of the skin regeneration process.
