Description

Trimethylglycine (TMG), often referred to as betaine, is a compound naturally present in the human body and in certain foods. It contributes to several biological processes, including maintaining normal liver health, supporting cell growth and replication, and assisting in the formation of important metabolic substances.

Structurally, TMG originates from the amino acid glycine and carries three methyl groups. This configuration enables it to function as a methyl donor, meaning it can provide methyl groups needed for various biochemical reactions, including those involved in methylation.

As people get older, the body’s capacity to maintain an optimal supply of methyl groups may decline. Supplementing with TMG can help support these processes by helping sustain healthy methylation activity.

TMG also plays a role in the regulation of homocysteine, an amino acid formed during normal metabolism. When homocysteine levels rise too high, they may be linked with increased risks related to cardiovascular and cognitive health. By aiding the body in converting homocysteine into other useful compounds, TMG helps maintain balanced homocysteine levels and supports overall metabolic and cardiovascular wellbeing.

What are TMG capsules?

TMG capsules contain Trimethylglycine (TMG) designed to support cellular energy, healthy aging and methylation balance.

What do they do?

TMG helps boost NAD+ levels, improving cellular energy, endurance and focus while promoting DNA repair and anti-aging benefits. The TMG component provides crucial methylation support, which helps regulate homocysteine levels, supports liver health and maintains cardiovascular balance, enhance vitality, cognitive clarity and overall metabolic performance.

Do I need to take TMG with NMN?

While NMN can be taken on its own, pairing it with TMG is highly recommended. As NMN increases NAD+ levels, it can also raise the body’s demand for methyl groups – essential compounds used in numerous biological processes. Taking TMG alongside NMN helps replenish these methyl groups, supporting balanced methylation and preventing potential depletion that could affect energy metabolism and liver health.

Are there any side effects of Trimethylglycine?

TMG is generally considered safe and well-tolerated when taken at recommended doses. Some people may experience mild side effects such as digestive discomfort or nausea, particularly at higher doses. It’s always advisable to start with the suggested serving and consult a healthcare professional before use, especially if you have existing health conditions or are taking medication.

What is methylation in the body?

Methylation is a vital biochemical process where a methyl group (one carbon and three hydrogen atoms) is added to molecules like DNA, proteins and neurotransmitters. This process regulates gene expression, detoxification, energy production and brain function. Proper methylation is essential for maintaining cellular health, hormone balance and overall well-being.

What is homocysteine and what does it do in the body?

Homocysteine is an amino acid naturally produced during the metabolism of methionine, another amino acid. While normal levels are harmless, elevated homocysteine can increase the risk of cardiovascular issues and oxidative stress. Nutrients involved in methylation – such as TMG, folate and vitamin B12 – help convert homocysteine into beneficial compounds, supporting heart health and metabolic balance.
